In a surprise ceremony May 29, 2014, Jeffery Jackson was named King County Metro Transit's Operator of the Year (2013). Jackson drives electric trolley Routes 1, 7 and 14. "Jeffery's a success because he has a flair for the job."
He began his career with Metro in 1979. He was an Operator of the Month in 1991, 2007 and 2013 and is scheduled to receive his 29-year safe driving award. He was praised by Atlantic Base Chief Bill Burdick, Metro General Manager Kevin Desmond, Transit Operations Manager Jim O'Rourke and many others at the celebration.
