在致命的李斯特菌污染爆发后，一场源于煮鸡蛋污染的召回事件已经扩大到沃尔玛和Trader Joe’s销售的产品。
由于潜在的李斯特菌污染，Almark Foods扩大了召回范围，将其位于佐治亚州盖恩斯维尔的工厂生产的所有煮熟鸡蛋产品都包括在内。
据美国疾病预防控制中心报告，此次李斯特菌疫情已经导致了7例病例，其中1例死亡，4例住院。疫情发生在5个州，但被召回的产品已经被运往全美各地。
扩大的召回范围包括非常受欢迎的品牌和有机食品，如Egglands Best、Pete&Gerry's和Vital Farms。
Trader Joe’s的鸡蛋和土豆沙拉也被召回，因为Almark食品公司为其提供了沙拉中的碎蛋白。
美国食品药品监督管理局表示，受影响产品的“最佳使用期限”以G开头，这表示这些产品是在盖恩斯维尔工厂生产的，绝对不应食用。
Almark食品公司总裁唐·斯托纳（Don Stoner）对CNN说，与此同时，Almark食品公司已经暂停止乔治亚州工厂的生产，不过该公司在北卡罗来纳州和亚利桑那州的工厂正在“加足马力”以满足消费者的需求。
他说：“我们正与食品和药物管理局合作，努力恢复盖恩斯维尔工厂的运营，以便我们能够继续从该工厂向市场提供安全、健康、价格合理的鸡蛋。我们为这一极其罕见的安全失误道歉，我们正在尽一切努力确保不再发生类似的事情。”

高危人群应慎用
CDC说，李斯特菌主要感染孕妇、老年人、免疫系统弱的人和新生儿。症状与其他食源性疾病相似，包括发烧和腹泻，但在严重的情况下，它会导致孕妇流产或死胎。
在疾控中心进一步了解疫情之前，建议高危消费者扔掉任何商店购买的煮鸡蛋或含有它们的产品，比如鸡蛋沙拉。
疾控中心建议，不要吃那些产品。把它们扔掉，并对存放它们的地方进行消毒。
在餐馆或商店里吃可能含有煮熟鸡蛋的东西之前，先向餐厅经理确认这些鸡蛋不是来自Almark食品工厂。
卫生机构建议，如果这些食品真的含有Almark鸡蛋，或来源场不确定，不要购买或订购该产品。
