简单介绍
If the mark of a successful restaurant is milling masses waiting for a table, Cactus certainly qualifies. You're advised to come during the week when the crowds thin out a little, especially during the summer when the outdoor tables fill up more rapidly than a second round of the excellent margaritas. If you have to wait, ask for a beeper so you can wander the shops in Madison Park. That'll help work up an appetite and make your meal even more enjoyable. Among the first local restaurants to offer tapas, Cactus still serves more than 20 of the delectable treats. The main menu is about half Mexican standards with much of the remainder intended for those with a more adventurous (and spice-resistant) palate. The restaurant enjoys a reputation for large portions, and as you approach satiety you'd be well advised to pack up what's still on your plate and order flan for dessert. It just may be the best in the city. -- J.T. Whiting
